Jeg ble tipset om følgende artikkel nettopp: Europol Report: All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 99.6% that Aren’t. Interessant lesing.
Artikkelforfatteren har sett på de siste års rapporter om terror-situasjonen i Europa (eller mer presist EU) fra Europol, og laget noen grafer og tabeller som viser hvem som stod bak ulike terrorangrep i perioden 2006-2008. Tabellene og kildene finner du på nettsiden, men jeg gjengir en graf som viser summering for de tre årene her:
Europol konkluderer sin 2009-rapport slik:
Islamist terrorism is still perceived as being the biggest threat worldwide, despite the fact that the EU only faced one Islamist terrorist attack in 2008. This bomb attack took place in the UK.

Separatist terrorism remains the terrorism area which affects the EU most. This includes Basque separatist terrorism in Spain and France, and Corsican terrorism in France.

Past contacts between ETA and the FARC illustrate the fact that also separatist terrorist organizations seek cooperation partners outside the EU on the basis of common interests. I USA står muslimer bak 6% av alle terrorangrep. I Europa 0.4%. Så kan man kanskje hevde at akkurat her i stabile og fredelige Norge er muslimsk terror en mer reell trussel enn fra politiske ekstremister, men når du hører påstander om at radikal Islam er vår tids største trussel, kan man kanskje tenke litt på disse tallene og senke skuldrene et hakk.
